PROBLEM:

I recently upgraded PR-Tracker to version 4.40. Now there are no longer any reports listed on the Reports menu. Also when I do menu Manage Reports, there are no reports listed to add.

SOLUTION:

This problem occurs when the upgrade procedure is not followed exactly. The upgrade procedure includes these steps:

1. Extract the file in prtrk440.zip to a temporary directory.

2. Run setup.exe from the temporary directory and select the Upgrade option.

3. The setup.exe will automatically update the PR-Tracker program and database files. Setup.exe will also copy all setup files to the NETSETUP subdirectory of the PR-Tracker database directory so that others can install the upgrade from the network.

The missing reports problem occurs when the files extracted from prtrk440.zip are placed directly into NETSETUP instead of into a temporary directory.

To fix the problem do these steps

1) Delete the reports.cfg file from the PRTRACKERDB directory.

2) Copy the files in PRTRACKERDB\NETSETUP into a temporary directory.

3) Run setup.exe from the temporary directory and select the Upgrade option.
